Sir Alex Ferguson Retires as Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson of manchester United Fc will retire at the end of the season, the club  have confirmed in a statement. Rumours about Ferguson’s United future began to circulate at the club’s golf day on Tuesday and were widely carried in Wednesday’s newspapers. And at around 9.20am United made the announcement on their website that English football’s most successful manager will call time on a 26-and-a-half-year reign this summer. Ferguson’s decision comes just days after he secured his 13th Premier League title, and he has also delivered United two European Cups, five FA Cups, four League Cups and a European Cup Winners’ Cup. He said: “The decision to retire is one that I have thought a great deal about and one that I have not taken lightly. It is the right time. “It was important to me to leave an organisation in the strongest possible shape and I believe I have done so. The quality of this league winning squad, and the balance of ages within it, bodes well for continued success at the highest level whilst the structure of the youth set-up will ensure that the long-term future of the [...]
